Moving day is finally here! We're moving some stuff tonight and then all day tomorrow. Our first night at the house will be tomorrow night. Everything isn't done we still have all the doors to paint and put on but we didn't need that done to move in :-) Alex worked SO SO hard to get this all done so fast! Big thanks to Derrick, Bob, Duane and Rex who helped SO much. Derrick painted the interior and helped with so much more. Bob who knew how to do everything and helped teach Alex. And he also was the one to move the water heater and re plumbed is by being under the house for an hour! He also did most of the mudding (7 coats on the chimney!) Duane who cleaned and cleaned and helped with moving and finishing bathrooms, and so much more. And REX! Oh man. He did ALL OF THE FLOORING! All of it people. And Nick who taught Alex and helped with all of the floor trim. We are so blessed to have such awesome family and friends. Also thank you to Mom and Michelle for watching the kids so much. I have the best moms ever. Here's an uncompleted list (Alex isn't here to help me remember) of the things that were done (not in the correct order)
Removed carpet
Took off doors and trim
Took out oven and dishwasher
Replaced some of the subflooring
Took down stupid wall
Moved water heater into Ali's room
Moved electrical stuff from stupid wall into the wall by the bathroom
Cut holes in living room ceiling for recessed lighting
Scraped popcorn ceiling
mudded over weird textured kitchen ceiling
re textured the WHOLE house ceiling and walls
repainted WHOLE house ceiling and walls
new laminate flooring everywhere but bedrooms and bathrooms
new flooring in bathrooms
new carpet in bedrooms
new floor trim
new ceilings lights throughout whole house
took out small kitchen counter/cabinet to make more room
all new blinds
removing bathtub sliding door
WHEW! That's just the bigger things. There were so many little (and big) time consuming things like patching the ceiling and floor where the stupid wall was, rewiring stuff, patching hundreds of tiny wholes in the walls, caulking the tops of trim, around bathtubs, around door frames, etc.... lots and lots of things.
I'll continue to post pictures as we get more stuff done, things settles and moved in. And new doors put on. And then we have the outside to do! Lots of gardening and we're going to paint the outside this summer! But first, I'll let Alex get caught up on some sleep :-)
